In the world of Pokémon there are many battles these pocket monsters fight. Typically when a Pokémon is defeated in battle they will be sent to the nearest Pokémon Center.
There are very rarely any old Pokémon in the Pokémon universe. Does this mean that all Pokémon are immortal?
This answer to this question really depends on the situation.
In the card game, Pokémon are immortal. You can play with that Pokémon until you lose the card or it is no longer playable. In the anime, comic, and video realms of Pokémon, there have been Pokémon characters that have died so they are not immortal.
There are even graveyards marked throughout the Pokémon universe signifying that Pokémon do die.
The most common way for a Pokémon to die is through sacrifice. Latios and Lucario both sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
Other Pokémon have died in explosions or even of old age. No Pokémon is safe when it comes to death and they are not immortal either.

Are Ghost Pokémon Immortal?
Since ghosts have already died, does this mean that the Ghost Pokémon are immortal?
There is no direct answer to whether or not Ghost Pokémon are immortal. It would depend on your view of the Ghost Pokémon.
If you view Ghost Pokémon as characters that have already died and been brought back as ghost types, then I would say that they would be immortal. If you view the ghost types as spirits with energy, once their energy is gone this would mean the ghost type would die as well.
However you view the ghost-type Pokémon will determine your answer of whether or not they are truly immortal.
Have Ash And Pikachu Died On Their Journeys?
Pikachu and Ash have been on a journey to catch them all for decades. There have been a few close calls on their journeys together. Ash and Pikachu appear to be immortal and ageless in the Pokémon universe.
Even though they appear immortal, there have been a few times where Ash and Pikachu didn’t make it and actually died (at least temporarily).
Here are a few instances where Ash and Pikachu didn’t seem to make it safely on their journey.
The first scare happens in Pokémon Season 1 Episode 22, The Tower of Terror. Ash and Pikachu were in search of a ghost-type Pokémon. Upon reaching Pokémon Tower, where the ghost types are known to hang out, they were met by a trio of ghost-type Pokémon.
While fighting valiantly, a chandelier ends up falling on Pikachu and Ash. At first, you think they are only knocked unconscious. As time goes on, you realize it’s a bit more serious than that once their spirits are seen leaving their bodies.
The ghost types try to convince Ash and Pikachu to stay with them. Ash convinces the ghosts to return them to their bodies and let him finish his journey to being a Pokémon Master.
In their first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, Ash jumps between Mewtwo and Mew just as they were shooting energy waves at each other. While Pikachu survived this encounter, Ash did not. The energy wave turned Ash into stone.
However, Ash did not remain as a stone for very long. All the tears of the Pokémon brought Ash back to life.
In the movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, almost all the human characters were eaten by a blob designed to fight humans.
Ash did not remain eaten for long. Mew ended up using its powers to revive all the eaten humans.
Another instance where Ash did not make it through the journey is in the movie, Pokémon: I Choose You. Ash gets attacked several times by Pokémon that are under the control of Marshadow.
This attack kills Ash and he ends up in a type of afterlife. He is rescued by his faithful companion, Pikachu, and Ho-Oh as they jump through a portal to save him.
Ash and Pikachu have ended up in several sticky situations. Even though both have ended up “dead” on screen, their deaths do not last very long.
Are Legendary Pokémon Immortal?
Legendary Pokémon are quite powerful and rare. The most common way to capture one of these legendary Pokémon is through defeating them in battle. After defeating a legendary Pokémon in battle, you will then get a chance to catch them in the bonus challenge.
Since these legendary Pokémon are so rare and powerful, are they also immortal?
Several of the Legendary Pokémon are considered immortal. The Titans, Weather Pokémon, and Legendary Birds are all considered immortal or at least impossible to kill.
The titans are made from the earth itself, it would be very hard to defeat and kill them. The weather legendary Pokémon are most likely immortal since they can control the weather and use the earth as a way to protect themselves.
The legendary birds have long lifespans, but they can die. However, once the birds die they end up coming back like a Phoenix from the ashes so they don’t stay dead.
Since the legendary types are very powerful, logic says that they would also be very difficult to kill as well.
What Are Some Of The Most Powerful Legendary Pokémon?
Legendary Pokémon are at the top of every player’s wishlist. With some of the highest stats, a Legendary Pokémon is a great addition to your team.
Out of all the Legendary Pokémon, what are a few of the most powerful?
If you are looking for some legendary Pokémon to add to your team, the most powerful of all the Legendaries are:
Arceus has a power of 720
Since Arceus can evolve into an elemental type, this makes it versatile in battle. This Pokémon has no major weaknesses either.
Not only will you have a strong Pokémon, but you will have one without any major weakness too.
Zamazenta has a power of 720
Zamazenta starts with a stat total of 670, but it increases while holding an item, the Crowned Shield. Though holding the Crowned Shield may increase its stats, it can also be decreased when holding a Rusted Shield.
Always be sure to have the right shield when using Zamazenta in a battle.
Zacian has a power of 720
Much like Zamazenta, Zacian ends up at a 720 power when holding a Rusted Sword. This boost is added to its physical attack and speed.
This makes Zacian one of the fastest Pokémon.
Zygarde has a power of 708
When Zygarde was originally introduced, it wasn’t very valuable or powerful. It wasn’t until the Sun and Moon edition was released that Zygarde was noticed as a powerful legendary Pokémon.
