Drawing is a great form of relaxation and expression. Typically, drawing is done with a sketchpad and pencil. A pencil is a great tool when drawing since you have the opportunity to erase and redraw to create the perfect drawing.

There may be days where you want to add a bit more color to your drawings, but how? Will markers work well when drawing?

You can use Sharpies for drawing. There are several different colors of Sharpies to choose from to create the exact drawing that you want.

If you are worried about making mistakes, there is always the option of using white-out. If there is a spot of marker you do not like, cover it with white-out and try again.

Be sure to apply a thin layer of white-out to avoid a bubbled texture on your drawing.

Be careful when using Sharpies to draw, the markers could bleed through the paper. If you are using a sketchpad, it will be beneficial to lay a paper underneath the one you are drawing on.

You could also find a sketchbook with thicker pages to avoid any bleed through to the next page.

Is It Bad To Draw On Yourself With Sharpie?

Have you ever wanted a tattoo but weren’t exactly sure what it would look like? You could draw on your skin with washable markers, however, it would end up washing off rather quickly.

There is not a great way to tell if in a few days you would even want the tattoo still.

What about drawing it with a Sharpie? It is more of a semi-permanent solution to see if you would enjoy the tattoo a few days after the original idea.

Is it okay though to use Sharpies to draw on your skin?

Sharpie does not recommend using their marker to write on your skin. Though Sharpies are non-toxic in general, they can be toxic if absorbed into your bloodstream.

If you have any cuts or scratches, the Sharpie ink could end up getting in your bloodstream. If you are curious as to what a tattoo would look like, you can always use the stick-on tattoos as a reference.

If you did happen to get Sharpie ink on your skin, there are a few different methods you can use to remove the ink.

Makeup Remover

Apply some makeup remover to a cotton ball. Use the makeup remover soaked cotton ball to remove the ink from your skin.

Rub in a circular motion over the ink and then rinse the area with warm water.

Sea Salt Scrub

Mix a bit of sea salt scrub with water to create a paste. Once the paste has been created, you can massage the sea salt scrub over the ink on your skin.

Be sure not to rub too hard as the sea salt could end up tearing your skin.

Baby Oil

The baby oil will attach to excess oils on your skin. Apply a small amount of the baby oil to the ink and then wash and rinse.

The only downside to using baby oil is that adding oil to your skin could cause breakouts.

Whitening Toothpaste

Much like toothpaste can remove stains from your teeth, it can remove stains from your skin as well.

You can use a toothbrush to exfoliate the skin with the toothpaste and then rinse.

Nail Polish Remover

This option should be a last resort as it is made of harsh chemicals.

Soak a cotton ball with the nail polish remover and rub it on your ink-stained skin.

Can You Wipe Sharpie Off Glass?

DIY crafts are growing in popularity. Some of those crafts consist of writing on the glass, either on cups, mason jars, or picture frames.

Using a Sharpie on glass takes some time and practice.

Typically, if writing on a glass cup or mason jar, the surface is circular and can take lots of practice writing nicely and in a straight line. Is there an easy way to fix mistakes and wipe the Sharpie off the glass?

You can remove Sharpie from glass using a few different methods. One of the easiest ways to remove Sharpie from glass is by tracing over it with dry-erase markers.

You can also use rubbing alcohol or acetone to remove Sharpie from the glass. Just soak a cotton ball with alcohol or acetone and rub it over the ink.

Additionally, if you are wanting to prepare your glass for writing, it is best to wash the glass first. Once the glass is washed, you can use alcohol or acetone to strip the glass of oils.

Removing the oils from the glass will allow your markers to glide over the glass smoothly and uninterrupted by excess oils.

Does Sharpie Come Off Clothes?

Sharpie stains can happen no matter how hard you try to avoid them. If you happen to pick up your craft before it has dried, you can end up with ink on your clothes. Or maybe you accidentally placed your hand on your lap with your marker still in hand and realize you’ve accidentally written on yourself.

Whatever the case may be for the ink ending up on your clothes, is there a way to remove the Sharpie ink?

You can use a few different household items to remove Sharpie ink from your clothes. Aerosol hairspray, lemon juice, toothpaste, WD-40, nail polish remover, hand sanitizer, and rubbing alcohol will all work to remove Sharpie from clothes.

You can choose any of these items to remove the ink from your clothing.

Once you have chosen which item to use to remove the stain, you can begin the process of removing the ink.

Place an old towel or paper towel between the stain and the layer of clothing underneath. This will prevent the stain from spreading any further on your clothing.

Place a bit of the remover onto the stain using a washcloth. Always dab and never scrub the stain to avoid staining even further.

You will want to use this method of dabbing until the stain is removed.

Does Sharpie Ink Fade?

One of the things Sharpies are best known for is for being permanent. It’s in the name, permanent markers. Though they are permanent markers, does the ink last forever or will it fade?

Sharpie ink will eventually fade over time. The ink will become lighter and end up with a yellowish hue around the writing. The Sharpie ink can last for about five years without fading.

Sharpie has come out with some oil-based paint markers that can last for quite a while as well. You can even bake the marker onto the surface to make it last even longer.
