Does Sharpie Wash Out Of Shoes?
Some like to purposefully draw with a Sharpie vibrant colors on their shoes and create unique designs. But what if you accidentally mark on your shoes with a Sharpie and do not want the ink to stay there?
Are there ways to wash it out?
You can wash Sharpie off of shoes by using some acetone nail polish remover.
First you want to moisten a cotton ball with the acetone nail polish remover and gently blot the stain. Acetone it’s what removes the stain so be sure you use this.
Next, you’ll want to blot the stain with a clean cloth so that there is just enough of the chemical to work on removing the stain and not damage the shoe. To remove the acetone off the shoe, wet a clean rag with water and place it on the area you have already treated.
The marker will begin to disappear and you pull the acetone from the fabric. Then, spray a clean rag with some cleaning spray and wipe the stain then blot a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol on the area.
Lastly, rinse the cleaning solutions out of the fabric and allow the shoe to sit until it is completely dry. If you notice the stain is still present you may need to do a couple more treatments to remove the Sharpie.

After all the work you put into getting your shoes colorful and all the time you spent making sure all the designs were drawn on perfectly you want to keep the marks on your shoe.
So how do you preserve Sharpie on shoes?
To preserve Sharpie on shoes just spray them with waterproofing spray.
You don’t want to chance stepping in a puddle and all the art slipping away. The first thing you can use is the waterproofing spray to protect the artwork on your shoes.
Just spray it from six inches away and in an even layer to coat the marks. Let it dry and you are ready to wear them.
You can also use Mod Podge to seal Sharpie on shoes. Clean the area before you draw and then after all your art is done you can spray Mod Podge over the marks.
Wait for it to dry and you are good to go.

Just apply over the marks to seal them in place. Using an oil-based Sharpie will help with it not fading or smearing on your shoes.
