If you’ve been paying attention to recent trends, you may have noticed that the toys that get the most hype and traction are those that develop and train a toddler’s mind and skills.

Legos, for example, where children can build and create new figures using building blocks, are considered household staples.

Other toys with the same gameplay and mechanics are also becoming very much in demand.

Another popular building toy that has been around for decades is Lincoln Logs.

Lincoln Logs is a toy that allows children to build cabins, forts, buildings, and the like. They come in sets that house miniature logs that can be attached and mounted on top of each other.

The logs are created to be miniature, life-like pieces to give children a taste of the real thing while also being tons of fun to build with.

Each log measures about two centimeters in diameter and comes in different lengths. Most of the logs come anywhere from 8 to 14 inches long.

But how does that size equate to scale?

In general, Lincoln Logs are approximately 1/32 scale. However, since there is no single size for the Lincoln Log houses or logs in general then Lincoln Logs and their sets aren’t to any exact scale.

There are some smaller options, with smaller logs and parts while others are larger. Some variations of the toy also come with miniature figurines, doors, windows, etc.

With these varieties, children and adults can build their structures according to their preferences but that makes coming up with an exact scale a bit difficult.

Someone could use their Lincoln Logs and make an extremely tiny log cabin while another person could make a much larger one. That’s what makes getting an exact scale with Lincoln Logs so incredibly difficult.

The idea of the toy is for children to build their own log cabins, farms, houses, etc. using the provided pieces so whatever scale they want to build them at (large or small) is totally fine.

The World’s Smallest Lincoln Logs

While Lincoln Logs were made for kids ages 3 and above, a lot of adults have also joined the hype and expressed their love for these toys.

Because of this, there are many collectors and enthusiasts that are also a contributing factor  to the toy’s popularity.

Many people are even looking for more and more ways to make the building process more challenging.

From that was yielded The World’s Smallest Lincoln Logs, a classic rendition of the popular toy but made with a much smaller scale.

It includes 49 different pieces all squeezed into a very small container that measures only 1.5 x 1.5 x 3.5 inches, so you can just imagine how tiny the logs are!

The set includes all of the following:

  • 1 chimney
  • 2 4-notch logs
  • 2 2-notch logs
  • 12 round 2-notch logs
  • 24 1-notch logs
  • 2 large roofs
  • 4 small roofs

Typically these sets will only be played with by teens and adults as they are too small for younger children to handle easily.

Lincoln Logs Variations

Of course, one of the best things about Lincoln Logs is variety. There are tons of different structures that children can build using the log sets and even without a specific set the only limitation is the builder’s imagination.

Each variation comes with specifically scaled and shaped pieces that, when put together, can build different structures. Some variations also have miniature figures and other parts.

Some of the most popular Lincoln Logs variations include:

Lincoln Logs American Legends: Davy Crockett

Davy Crockett was hailed as the “King of the Wild Frontier” and is one of the folk heroes in American history.

Because of this, Lincoln Logs created a limited edition version honoring his name. This variation is the first series in the American Legends collection.

It has 89 pieces of real wood logs in various sizes. When put together, the pieces can make a log cabin. It also comes with a miniature figure of Davy Crockett.

Lincoln Logs Classic Farmhouse

The Lincoln Logs Classic Farmhouse extends the original version of the toy , but also offers more possibilities.

It comes with 268 pieces of real-wood logs in different scales that the players can use to build a large log cabin. Or to build many smaller buildings as well.

Lincoln Logs Classic Lodge

Packaged in a tub of log pieces similar to the older Lincoln Logs that people know and love, the Classic Lodge collection comes with 107 all-wood pieces.

The logs come in different scales and sizes, all coming together to make a unique lodge. This nostalgic version stays simple and is just like the classic Lincoln Logs many people remember playing with as a child.

Lincoln Logs Classic Meeting House

The Classic Meeting House set comes with 117 stained and all-wood crafted logs, similar to other Lincoln Logs variations.

This one stays true to the original. The logs are scaled a little bit bigger and thicker than more recent versions of Lincoln Logs.

Lincoln Logs Country Campfire Ranch

Most of the classic versions of Lincoln Logs do not come with miniature figures. But the Country Campfire Ranch variation does, making it a complete playset kids can enjoy.

It comes with a horse, car, farmer, llama, and other ranch animals. It’s built to make a classic ranch with a campfire.

Lincoln Logs Fun on the Farm

Most Lincoln Logs bundles come with hundreds of little pieces that can build large structures. But for those who want smaller-scaled buildings, there’s a version of the toy for them to enjoy too.

The Fun on the Farm version of Lincoln Logs comes with only 89 real-wood log pieces. It’s best for preschoolers and also comes with miniature figures.

There’s a large, red gate leading to the farm, a llama, a haystack, chicken, and other fun pieces that kids can use to widen their imagination and make their farms come to life.

Lincoln Logs On the Trail

The Lincoln Logs On the Trail version only comes with 59 pieces, so it is perfect for kids who are after a quick build and play adventure.

Aside from the logs, additional pieces include a tree, benches, campfire, dog, and more. It’s also one of the few versions that come with small doors, and windows.

Lincoln Logs Sawmill Train Express

Lincoln Logs are known to be able to make log cabins, farms, ranches, and the like. But the manufacturers aimed to deliver something different with Lincoln Logs Sawmill Train Express.

Now, Lincoln Logs builders can make their own working railroad scene with 101 real-wood logs. The set comes with a toy train, a waiting shed, a tree, a cowboy and horse, and more.

Lincoln Logs have really changed the game not only for children but also for builders of all ages. It’s truly a fun build-and-play toy that anyone can enjoy.

Lincoln Logs come in different sizes and sets that can build a vast array of structures such as farms, cabins, buildings, and even railroads.

Made of real wood and structured in true-to-life quality, there’s definitely a variation of Lincoln Logs for anyone to enjoy despite that fact that figuring out their exact scale is virtually impossible.
